What do you want for Christmas, make more money?
Here I sit, it’s December 21st a few days before Christmas and I keep hoping somethings gonna be different, the snow is here for Christmas and that hasn’t happen in ten years! Now that’s different 🙂
If you’re like me you’ll find yourself thinking of simple ways to make money on the Internet without investing any money. It can be done, sure, just look at all those Internet Marketers that say they are making $40,000+ a month wihout spending a dime and here’s how I did it, just buy my course for $$$$$! Ok, I’m a skeptic, the problem isn’t that it can’t be done, the problem is….Who can you trust? Are they legitimate Internet Marketer’s or Internet Scammers? Ah the dilemma, how does one know for sure; With over 253 million related links to Make Money Online on Google which ones are for real?
Yep, it boggles the mind doesn’t it. All I want for Christmas is to make more money but I don’t know who to trust in the Internet Marketing scene. Are you struggling with the same question or are you buying and buying, spending and spending good money after bad on information and products that don’t tell something you don’t already know?
I’m not pointing fingers, I’m just sayin what the hell is a person to do with all these claims. Buyer beware I guess. So, if you are a successful Internet Marketer making large sums of money, why don’t you share with us how the average person can discern if your the real deal or not?
I triple dog dare ya!
There ya have it, my Christmas wish for 2008, who can I trust to be my Mentor as an Internet Marketer? This should be interesting…..please do share what you want for Christmas?
Merry Christmas everyone!
Twitter – Tool or Addiction?
I recently signed up at Twitter, so what you say! Most of my experiences on the Internet have been ho-hum for the most part but sometimes I’m entrigued by little things. I put up a Blog some time ago, no marketing no nothing really, I just started writing. I’m currently in between gig’s so to speak and have some time on my hands. I don’t have a business or a plan for that matter but I have been tinkering with the idea. One of the tinkers is registering with Twitter and finding a few people I already know to follow.
One thing leads to another, I get published at Ezinearticles, fine tuned my Blog for low level SEO, posted that I am writing an eBook and visited one interesting website and next thing I knew 30+ people started to follow me on Twitter. Again, so what you say!
Now I have registered with other Social networking tools before and frankly no one came to my Blog unless I personally told them to, putting the link up in various services really didn’t do much good. Until Twitter. Now I realize content matters, who wants to read about my rants on stuff your not interested in, but that’s my point, I write because I like to and I’m not really trying to get traffic. Not on purpose anyway. Having said that, did I mention I was in between gigs? I should try to get traffic and try to earn a living online shouldn’t I? So why am I so hesitant, could it be I just don’t trust Internet Marketer’s telling me how to get rich online? Yep!
Now the tool that has been the most fun to use for me on Twitter is TweetDeck, it takes the pain of having to go to my Twitter homepage to see what’s going on and to post my updates. Well Done! So the problem now is I can’t seem to walk away from Twitter, why? It’s addicting!
Like everything else I’ll get over it because I get bored easily, I’ll find something new to play with and I’ll get fired up and post about it. That’s the best part about Blogging and having your own Blog. Hmmmm, is a Blog a tool or an Addiction, YES!
Internet Marketer or Internet Scammer?
This past week I have attended a number of webinars and joined mailing lists as part of on going need to figure out what is it that makes the term Internet Marketer demand so much respect. I recognize that 90% of the Internet Marketers may fall under the term Internet Scammer, not because they are bad people but because they are merely following some elses way of doing things because it worked for them. I’m a bit old school in that, nothing comes without hard work and persistance, and they preach the same thing but with a spin.
I guess I’m bothered by the fact that almost every Internet Marketer has narrowed down the delivery to a point where I no longer trust it. If I got a nickel for every landing page that looks the same I wouldn’t have to work for a living…hang on I don’t! That’s another story for another time and I am looking. I’ll bet the landing page is the same for well over 95% of those who call themselves Internet Marketers, why? Because they say it works.
To be completely honest I’m more interested in the motives, why are they doing what they are doing, I know make money. But there has to be a deeper motivator, doesn’t there? What’s the real reason for being an Internet Marketer, what’s the WHY I AM I DOING THIS? I want to know I can trust you, I want to know there is a greater good to making the kind of money you claim to make.
If you did a search on Google for Internet Marketing you would find the results around 89 million related links on the topic, if you searched for How to Make Money Online you would find over 30 Million related links. If you changed it to say Make Money Online the results jump to over 40 million, then the big one, Get Rich Online, it has over 253 Million results. I wonder, if you were to click on every one of those links how many of them would look the same and or claim the same things? That’s alot of opportunity, that’s a lot of problem solving, they all want your money and they all say they have the answer to your problem, but do they?
Why do so many follow Internet Marketers? The need is money of course. The problem I have found is that many of these Internet Marketers are selling the easy road, you don’t need this and that and you don’t have to sell! Prosperity teaching is not a good theology to live by, as I mentioned earlier, nothing comes without hard work and persistance. Therefore, being sold on how little you have to do should be a red flag shouldn’t it? It’s too good to be true and so on.
So what to do, who do you follow, how do you know who to trust without losing your shirt buying report after report on how to get rich online? I watched a video clip of three guy’s sit and talk about how they made money doing this and that without really telling how they did it, of course they want you to buy something thats why. My struggle with these fellows wasn’t that they figured out how to make money but it was there attitude, they laughed at how easy it was to make all this money. It was like they finally ripped off the man, the problem is they didn’t, they ripped you and me off. They took our money for something we believed was valueable. Ok, good for you, now what? What are you going to do with all that money? Are you going to make a difference in the world, feed the poor, clothe those living on the street? The list is endless. I have only heard of a couple gentlemen who are using they’re Internet Marketing business to do missionary work, to make a difference, now that tells me just maybe the motive is right, but is it? How do we find out? How we find out is another topic to cover at a later date.
I’m not a highly suspicious person but I do smell crap easily and I can tell when something is rotten in Denmark. I’m no scholar and I’m definetly not an English major ( you can tell by my writing). If the goal is to make money and lots of it, and your not going to use the money to help those in need, why are you doing it? What’s the point of all this money making?
I would suggest to you that knowing the why is where to start, check your motives, why do you feel the way you feel about what you are going to do. It’s taken me a lifetime to figure what I’m truly passionate about, why I write, why I share and why I care about those around me so much. Including you. I’m not crying sour grapes because I spent so much time and money trying to duplicate someones Internet Marketing business model and failed. No, I have two passions that drive me, one is sending a messsage about the advancements of technology and how you will be impacted by it and to help you realize that you can make a difference, you are special, you can be and do better than you are. And that means asking the tough question of why, why become an Internet Marketer, why do you do what you do, what is the reason you spend your time and your money the way you do.
I know some Internet Marketers will take offence to this post and you may believe your motives are right, and that may be true, I would love to hear about the great things you’re doing in your community with the money you make from your business. I would love to hear what makes you unique, what makes you different and what you are passionate about. I am merely suggesting that the majority of Internet Marketers don’t give a minutes thought to how they could make a difference in a world that is suffering. They believe that making money from you so you can do the same to someone else is a noble thing to do even it doesn’t help you. I can only hope you will be different, I can only hope your motives are right and you truly want to help those around you.
So I ask you, are you an Internet Marketer or an Internet Scammer? Do you give or do you only take?
How many people are better off because you lived, not for how much money you made or what you have materially, but because you got involved in someones life and made a difference. After all, in the end, you can’t take it with you.
Nano Turning Points
Have you ever stopped for a moment and thought back to certain times in your life when you felt you stepped up to another level? A turning point? We all have them. Let’s see, your first step (you probably don’t remember that one) ok, your very first day of school…ever! Turning thirteen was one, maybe your first kiss happened here, then learning how to drive, graduation, becoming of age where you could drink alcohol! And then your early to mid-twenties when you found yourself repeating the wisdom of your parents to someone else and thinking maybe they weren’t as dumb as you thought they were. Each one of those events were turning points where you grew just alittle bit more and before you know it you were wondering what happened.
I was lying in bed tonight thinking about this and just had to get up and start writing, someday I’ll look back at these entries and wonder what I was thinking at the time. I think right now, I’m at a crossroads at 51 and I feel like I’m back in my teen years trying to figure out what I’m going to be when I grow up.
Over the years I did a great many things, played in rock bands, was in radio for almost 15 years, learned about computers and became a technology man. Then one day I heard about a man and nanotechnology, I just had to find out more. I think I have stumbled over another turning point not just in my life but in society.
It would seem to me based on all that I have researched and shared in my eBook, The New Technology – The End of Mankind, there will be a parting of the ways between religion and nano-technology. Technology has not given us what we hoped it would but it has given us what we didn’t expect. As the advancements in technology grow at an exponential rate we too will struggle with our morality, belief’s about how technology will be woven into our very beings.
Virtual Reality will sweep us away and we will be even more desensitized, lost in space so to speak, and we will struggle with what is real and what is not. We will be taken farther and farther away from the relational beings we were created to be, driven indoors, not interacting with each other face-to-face.
As nano-technology becomes main stream, religion will find itself at odds with how that technology is being developed, used and frankly forced upon us, possibly not even knowing you have been subjected to it. It seems ridiculous to think that we wouldn’t have a choice but look around the world, your world and take a close look at how we are failing. Economies, industries and the very jobs we hold to make the big machine run are disappearing or crumbling at our feet. Before you know it the government will own everything and you will be paying rent to the very people you elected. I digress, mixing technology, politics and religion in one blog post is crossing the line!
The world is at turning point, not just financially but with the global impact of technology, it has yet to be realized and begs to wonder will the machines win? Terminator? I wonder how far we will go, will the Matrix come to fruition? Who will control what and who will be able to afford the technologies yet to come?
A turning point on many levels is taking place and it seems to me we don’t hear about much of it because we may not be able to handle what we learn. In my eBook I touch on some of these advances and I alos give you the source so you can look for yourself and draw your own conclusions.
There will come a day in the extreme near future where computers will exceed the speed barrier of the human brain. In the next three years you will hear about it, what then will these machines be able to accomplish? Nano-technology is the turning point of mankind. Read about it in my eBook called The New Technology – The End of Mankind, just click on the product tab above.
Until next time.
Are You Ready For The New Technology?
The New Technology – The End of Mankind
It doesn’t matter what you believe or what you think you know, what matters is that you become aware. God created us to be relational beings in his image, not machines to live in seclusion separated from each other and him. He gave us the opportunity to have a relationship with him, which is at the very heart of the matter. He also provided a way for us to have awareness, being aware allows you to make sound decisions and sometimes we misunderstand what we are aware of and make not so sound decisions.
I’ve been writing and researching this thing called The New Technology and have become increasingly uncomfortable each and everyday I learn more about it. You can call it fear mongering if you want to but I prefer to think of it as making you aware of the truth and where you should look for it.
If the exponential growth of technology is to continue as it is we will have to find a way to think exponentially, not continue in our linear fashion. Information Technology is growing at 2, 4, 8, 16 and 30 steps at a time and before you know it you are at a billion times. Our brains are doubling in knowledge every year, I’ll bet that’s news to you.
Have you ever thought about these futuristic movies and wondered could it ever happen? Well I have and it is already happening and we never hear about it. OK, we hear about some of the advances being made on CNN but the crux of the problem is trying figure out how to control and monetize it. Net Neutrality is only one small problem compared to where technology is taking us.
You’ve heard about Nano-Technology in very small doses via the news and the progress the scientists at major Universities are making. This progress will intrude on you in ways you can’t possibly imagine and you may not know you have been subjected to it. It will be sold in such a way that you will believe it is the best thing for you to stay healthier and live longer. But is it the best thing for you?
In my ebook I share some of the things you rarely hear about, where we came from, what happened to us when technology really began to evolve. How it impacted our job markets and how will technology change us beyond our wildest imagination. And I am only scratching the surface in the ebook, there is so much out there I can only hope to share a small snippet of my findings.
I ask myself regularly, is this what God had in mind for us? Or is this just the beginning of something far greater?
